Erm, I can’t say the Ford crossover family face works very well on the it. It looks a bit awkward and forced onto a body that looks like a tall Focus.
On a more positive note, a new 1.5T, the new 2.0T from the Edge, and Sync 3 make an appearance. I also like the updated center stack.
Maybe the face will grow on me, but other than that I’m sure the update will only help the Escape climb even higher on the sales charts.

Strip off the badging, tell me it’s the new Subaru Forester, and I’d believe you.

I’m not the biggest fan of the new family face. I thought that the old (new) Escape looked really handsome.

It was always a Ford Kuga with an Escape badge slapped on it’s ass.
Now it’s a Ford Kuga with an Escape badge slapped on it’s ass and an Edge grilled slapped on it’s face.

Exactly my first thoughts.

My first thought was it looked like a Subaru. Then I had to go look at Subaru’s currentline up, and I felt better when I couldn’t find a dopplerganger of the 2017 Escape.

I like the face of the Edge but this is just... eh. I did like the old face though.

Subaru Outback.

There’s also some Mazda CX5 towards the rear ... it took lots of boring elements to get to that design.

there is SOOO much dam wasted space on this dashboard...WHY does it need to extend another 3 feet in front of the driver? WHY?

Aerodynamic windshield mixed with trying to put the front seats at the point of the roof with the most headroom I guess.

Looks like the old one with a Subaru grill and a better interior.

I saw a Ford Taurus in my rearview driving down the highway the other day and I thought it was a Subie Legacy... lol.

That’s maybe because the Escape IS a tall Focus. Even the old one was like that.

That's what I'm saying, it was designed to look like a tall focus. This new face doesn't work with the rest of the body because it's an SUV looking face on a crossover meant to look like a car.

Ah now I’m picking up what you’re putting down.
